Alex Rodriguez Admits To Using A Banned Substance
Alex Rodriguez sat down with Peter Gammons today and confessed to using banned performance-enhancers while playing for the Texas Rangers.
He didn't go into details, but admitted that after signing his record-breaking contract with the Rangers, he felt pressure to prove he was the best player in the game—and took unexplained steps to do so. Although he does not reveal here any dates, times, amounts, or specific drugs that may have been taken, he implies that he only used them during his three seasons in Texas and says that he has since stopped. He was 25 years old when he began his first season with the Rangers.
The rest of the interview will air on SportsCenter at 6:00 ET [Video via ESPN]
