Blogdom's Best: Chicago Bulls
This image was lost some time after publication. It might not — yet — have the online fanaticism and cachet of baseball, but the NBA and its fans are starting to catch up in the world of team-devoted blogs. To this end, Deadspin salutes these modem-addled souls and proudly presents Blogdom's Best, given to the most outstanding blog for each NBA team. There are fewer than there are for baseball, but they're out there, if you look. If you would like to nominate a blog (yours, even) for selection, just let us know at [email protected]. Today: The Chicago Bulls.
It used to be that you couldn't get onto a computer for five minutes without tripping over a Chicago Bulls blog — they were as plentiful as velvet decorations at Graceland. But no more. The Bulls last won an NBA championship in 1998 — Jordan, Pippen and Rodman are gone, the team has slipped to mediocrity, and the resultant online exodus by Bulls fans has produced a cloud of dust that can be seen from outer space. NBA fans can be like that, about as monogamous as Mo Vaughn at Carnival in Rio. And those Bulls fans who remain, well, their hearts aren't really in it. With one exception. Let's take a look. 3. Cagin' Bulls. Was a good blog until they suddenly decided to take the year off. No posts since August. 2. Chicago Bulls Blog. Not bad, actually — would get high marks if they posted more often. 1. Blogabull. One of the best NBA blogs anywhere. Our highest recommendation. Special dispensation goes to Chicago Bulls, which stopped blogging abruptly due to a romantic breakup. Recent entries include: "I have made many mistakes in my life, but letting her slip away was the one that officially makes me a failure." We feel your pain, brother. Um, could you pass the remote?
