It might not — yet — have the online fanaticism and cachet of baseball, but the NFL and its fans are starting to catch up in the world of team-devoted blogs. To this end, Deadspin salutes these modem-addled souls and proudly presents Blogdom's Best, given to the most outstanding blog for each NFL team. There are fewer than there are for baseball, but they're out there, if you look. If you would like to nominate a blog (yours, even) for selection, just let us know at Today: The New Orleans Saints.

It's unfortunate, but the lasting image of Saints fans up until this season has been a woebegone soul wearing a paper bag on his head. Today, that image has changed dramatically. Saints fans have been driven to show their true measure of devotion like no other. Literally forced out of their home city and scattered to the winds, they are keeping in touch with each other — and us — through blogs. And doing a pretty darned good job of it, we must say.

This is a story worth telling; a real human drama — from the ravages of Hurricane Katrina to the ravages of an owner who apparently wants to move the team. And that latter notion is the worst cut of all to long-suffering Who Dat devotees. Saints bloggers, we must say, deserve an award just for still being there. Here are three of the best.

3. Saints Report. A great news site with a slew of writers — if the Saints end up in Los Angeles, you'll here about it here first.
2. Hartwell TV's New Orleans Saints Blog. The first site we found with blow-by-blow photos of owner Tom Benson's fracas with a TV cameraman. But read on, this blogger is a real trooper. He's blogging from Houston, evidently where he's been relocated. Sample post: "My eyes welled up for a second thinking about what being a Saints fan means for me. The New Orleans Saints are the underdogs in NFL world. ... it's like we're defying gravity or something."
1. Black and Gold.Net. Everything for the Saints fan. What sold us is the commentary from both sides of the Benson debate — not easy in the Big Easy these days.
