Davey Johnson Is Perplexed And Unmoved By Press Conference Fire Alarm
Okay, let's get this out of the way first. Yes, it's hilarious to hear Nats manager Davey Johnson say, completely out of context, "It was shockingly beautiful, and big. I'm looking at it and I'm thinking, jeez. My first one was in 1966." He's talking about Edwin Jackson's World Series ring. Not a penis.
This juvenilia appetizer is followed up by perhaps the finest anti-humor of the young baseball season: 60 seconds of a close-up of Johnson looking confused as fire alarms go off at Nationals Park before last night's game. Not a knock on Davey or the assembled media, but perhaps the effectiveness of fire alarms is questionable when everyone's first instinct is "wait around until somebody tells you you don't have to leave."
The Nats would win 1-0. Davey's expression remains unchanged.
