Eric Gordon Really, Really Wants Out Of New Orleans
The Hornets guard is in Las Vegas, vying for a spot on the Olympic team, and he's telling anyone who will listen just how much he'd rather play in Phoenix than New Orleans. Coincidentally, he just agreed to a four-year, $58 million offer sheet with the Suns!
"Phoenix just showed a lot more interest, overall, and definitely in how they negotiated. I don't know what New Orleans' plans are for me. There are no negotiations right now ... They drafted another shooting guard, a combo guard like me, which tells me they have another plan
"Phoenix signed two other young guys that are very talented. They're already established and they're already going to get better."
Boy, it's going to be awkward when New Orleans matches the offer, since Gordon (besides the draft pick that turned into Austin Rivers) is the only real asset the Hornets got for moving Chris Paul and blowing up the team. Luckily, someone asked Gordon today what he'll do if the Hornets sign him:
"If they match I have to play basketball."
