After months of jawing, sniping, and preening, retired boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and MMA fighter Conor McGregor have agreed to a set date for a fight in Las Vegas on Aug. 26.
McGregor announced the fight with a photo of Mayweather’s dad, Floyd Mayweather Sr.
Mayweather announced in a more straightforward way:
Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports reports that the venue hasn’t been set, although there are a couple of options available. The rules under which the fight will be fought remain unclear; McGregor has roughly as much chance of beating Mayweather in an actual boxing match as you do of beating Kobe Bryant in a dunk contest.
