Hoops Under An Arizona Night Sky
This image was lost some time after publication. So here's an idea we can get behind.
This December, either as a publicity stunt or because they got kicked off the court again, the Texas Tech and Arizona State women's basketball game will take place outdoors. It'll be in Arizona, at Chase Field, so fortunately, there won't be any, you know, weather to deal with.
It's actually the second time they've done this; back in 2000, against Pat Summitt and Tennessee, though this one will be at night, which actually sounds like, well, no one in the stands will be able to see a thing.
We still like the concept, however, and think there could be real potential for this in the NBA. Say what you will about the notion, but the Knicks would be considerably more fun if, say, Jalen Rose were driving the lane while fighting off frostbite.
