Maybe this is stupid, but my first thought after the Jaguars beat the Steelers to advance to the AFC Championship game was, “I can’t wait to see what Jalen Ramsey has to say about this.”
For those who are somehow still uninitiated, Ramsey is one of the best cornerbacks in the league and also and unbelievably sassy shit-talker. His post-game chats with reporters are not to be missed, and yesterday was no exception:
There’s some backstory here. Leading up to yesterday’s game, a quote from Steelers safety Mike Mitchell (which was given more than a month ago, to be fair) about wanting to play the Patriots was being passed around as evidence that Pittsburgh was overlooking Jacksonville. Ramsey was asked about the quote during the week, and his response was withering:
This apparently enraged Mitchell, who went to the Jags’ locker room before the game to talk shit:
Clearly, this backfired:
By the time the Jaguars got back to Jacksonville, Ramsey was still in the zone:
This world certainly doesn’t deserve a gift as great as Jalen Ramsey with a microphone in his face following a win over the Patriots, but by God I hope we get it.
