Max Scherzer Pretends To Choke Bryce Harper

The Washington Nationals, the saddest and most dysfunctional team in the league, are somehow still playing baseball games. I kind of assumed that everyone had already packed up their shit and gone home for the winter, but nope! They’re still out there, pitchin’ and hittin’ and catchin’. At least Max Scherzer and Bryce Harper are still having some fun:
Sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying.
Update: Nationals communications manager Kyle Brostowitz sent us an email in order to clear a few things up. Apparently, Shcerzer and Harper have done this choke thing before:
Hi Tom,
I am reaching out to you in the hopes that you can provide some context/clarification in your blog post/tweet about the handshake between Max Scherzer and Bryce Harper. Max and Bryce have been doing that handshake for some time and it has nothing to do with the incident between Bryce and Jonathan Papelbon.
Just so you know, we are not singling out Deadspin. We are reaching out to many outlets to clarify what was shown last night and what is going around twitter this morning.
Thanks for understanding. Please let me know if you have any questions. Let me know if I can ever help with anything.
-Kyle
