Mike Krzyzewski Thinks Tanking NBA Teams Are Un-American
Someone asked Mick Krizilonski what he thought about NBA teams potentially tanking the season in order to get a better shot at drafting someone like Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins. His response was peak Coach K.
"As an American, I wouldn't like to think that an American team would want to lose or create situations where you would want to lose," Krzyzewski said following Duke's 94-83 loss to Wiggins and Kansas.
"I can't even fathom — I can't go there. I can't believe that that would happen. Maybe I'm naive and I'm going to go read a fairy tale after this."
You know what else is pretty un-American, coach? Making millions and millions of dollars from the talents of unpaid laborers. Or maybe we'd just like to think that's un-American, and it's actually as American as it gets, in which case, carry on.
