MLB Briefly Shuts Down Dodgers' Bubble Parties
The Dodgers have made a little plastic bubble machine part of their home run celebration. It's as whimsical a tradition as, and much more sanitary than, the Athletics' Rally Possum. But for whatever reason, before Tuesday's game, MLB executive VP Joe Torre commanded them to stop using it.
"My initial thought was, somebody forgot," catcher A.J. Ellis said.
"I thought the batteries were out," outfielder Andre Ethier said, "or we ran out of bubble solution."
But a day later, it was back. Fight the power. [ L.A. Times]
