Neil Diamond Performed "Sweet Caroline" Live At Fenway Park Today
Before the bottom of the eight inning at Fenway today, Neil Diamond took center stage in right field and belted out the tune that has become synonymous with Fenway and the Red Sox.
After the pre-game festivities this was a nice (G-rated) bow on Boston's return to sports, even if it was a lot more Neil Diamond singing karaoke to his own song than Neil Diamond singing his own song. What's more, according to Red Sox radio broadcast, Diamond just showed up unannounced to Fenway at 12:30 and asked " Can I sing today?"
Daniel Nava promptly hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth to give the Red Sox a 4-2 lead.
