New Looks At The New Falcons Stadium

WSB-TV in Atlanta has gotten a look at some of the newest renderings of the new Atlanta Falcons stadium, tentatively set to open for the 2017 season. Once again, be aware these designs will change somewhere, but the current plan is for an arena that looks like none other.

The iris-like retractable roof ("The Sphincter") is still on, and that angular design will extend to the stadium's profile. But the coolest part is that it's not just the roof that will open for good weather; enormous translucent windows on the sides of the stadium will open too.

"When the roof is open, the concourses will be open. That's a new concept. These windows open, so it will feel like you're outdoors."
