Notre Dame Hockey Player Named Beers Took Bar Patrons' Beers, Beat Up Manager When She Kicked Him Out
Jared Beers, a junior defenseman on the Notre Dame hockey team, was arrested Monday night after a weekend incident at Brothers Bar & Grill in South Bend. According to police, the 22-year-old Beers repeatedly tried to take beers from other customers, and got violent when the bar manager tried to eject him from the premises.
The woman said Beers refused to leave, and punched her in the face, police said.
She told officers he then stepped on her head, face and neck when she fell to the ground, according to a police report.
She said he then pulled her ponytail, police said.
Witnesses said Beers ran away when they called police.
I know, you're wondering how police were able to collar Beers after he pulled off the perfect crime. Well, turns out he dropped his wallet while beating up a woman. The police found it, called Beers to tell him, and when he showed up at the police station to retrieve it, arrested him.
Yesterday Notre Dame announced that Beers is suspended indefinitely. He faces charges of criminal trespass, battery and resisting law enforcement.
