Playing College Football's Kevin Bacon Game

We're sure some of you have seen this before, but it's new to us, so we're gonna toss it out there. For all those conversations you've had about who the best team in the country really is — Illinois beat Rutgers beat so and so, all the way up to the Miamis and the real teams — comes The College Football Victory Chain Linker, which automates all that for you. It's the Kevin Bacon game for college football. (Sorry. We needed a picture with this post, and figured Bacon was as good as anyone. Just be happy we didn't run that nude shot from Wild Things.)

We just ran a link from our beloved (but wretched) Illini football team to Miami (Fla.), the top-ranking team with a loss. It took 14 steps. We then ran one for Division III Millikin University in Decatur, Ill. (right by our hometown); that one took 31 steps. (That UC-Davis win over Stanford makes a big difference in this game.) It's big fun for a lazy Friday where your boss is gonna leave at noon anyway.
