Rams running back Tre Mason was arrested in Hollywood on charges of resisting arrest, marijuana possession, and reckless driving on Saturday. According to the arresting officer’s narrative of events, Mason was pulled over for driving 75 mph in a 35 mph zone, and was then tasered after refusing to exit his vehicle.

According to the police report, Mason refused to speak to the officer who pulled him over and was recording the officer with his phone. The report states that Mason would not give his name and refused to produce his license, and responded to many of the officer’s questions by shaking his head “no” or smirking.

After noticing the smell of marijuana in the car, the officer who pulled Mason over asked him to exit the vehicle, according to the report. When Mason allegedly refused, the officer called for back up, at which point the report says both cops attempted to physically remove Mason from the car. Here’s how the officer’s narrative describes what happened next:

The defendant immediately tensed his arms and straightened his body as he used the floor, steering wheel, and seat to brace himself in the vehicle. The defendant again was told that he was under arrest and he attempted to reach for the key to start the vehicle.

The report says that an additional officer was called for via radio, and that the scuffle with Mason continued for another two minutes. When the third officer arrived, Mason was hit with a taser once in the torso and once in the “pelvic area,” at which point Mason was pulled from the car and handcuffed, according to the report. Police say that 12 grams of marijuana was found inside Masons’ car.
