Let's Remember Some Guys: 1992 Guys
When you come into some unopened packs of early ’90s baseball cards, there’s not a whole lot you can do with them. You’re basically just out a few quarters—unless one of your joys in life is sitting on some vaguely retro furniture and trying to turn faint sparks of memory into fully formed remembrance.
Thankfully, neat facts and obscure baseball men are two of Deadspin’s specialties, so that’s exactly what we did. Though I was not born until 1995 and therefore could not remember these particular guys, our own David Roth apparently knows every MLB player with more than 100 plate appearances over the last three decades. Armed with some very cheap collector’s items from the era of grunge and steroids, I got to enjoy a small fraction of that knowledge up close and personal. Now, you can too.
