Photo credit: Ronald Martinez/ [object Object] The Memphis Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks, and Dallas Mavericks have all stopped staying at Donald Trump-owned hotels this season, according to a report from ESPN. The three teams stay at Trump properties in either New York or Chicago, but have since sought accommodations not owned by the repugnant president-elect when visiting those cities. ESPN also reports that another team may join the three next year:
Sources say that another Eastern Conference team contracted to stay at the Trump SoHo in New York this season has likewise already decided to switch to a different property in Manhattan when its current contract expires at season’s end and that the Trump association is among the factors for the switch.
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was an outspoken supporter of Hillary Clinton, and even collaborated with her campaign team. Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry has been a longtime supporter of Clinton, although he also worked with Trump for a few years. Eight other teams besides the Grizzlies, Mavericks, and Bucks are scheduled to stay at Trump hotels this year, but only the aforementioned and unnamed team said they had plans to change that.
