Richard Sherman Explains Why Players Shouldn't Trust The NFL
Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has been starring in video segments for The Players’ Tribune, and the latest entry sees him speaking honestly about the nature of the NFL’s relationship with its players.
There’s a lot of good stuff in here, including, “I think sometimes the public gets confused by the league-player relationship, thinking that it needs to be amicable to work, and it doesn’t. It’s not going to be that way.” The more players understand that NFL management is an adversary from which fair pay and benefits need to be extracted, the better off the players’ union—and players—will be.
