Richard Sherman Is Getting Tommy John Surgery, But It's Not A Huge Deal
According to Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, all-pro cornerback Richard Sherman will be undergoing Tommy John surgery to repair the elbow injury he suffered during the NFC Championship game.
The words "Tommy John" will probably set off alarm bells for a lot of sports fans who associate the surgery with the devastating elbow injuries that derail baseball careers, but there's no need to panic about Sherman. Tommy John surgery isn't that big of a deal so long as the person getting it's career doesn't depend on being able to throw a slider.
So long as there are no snags in Sherman's rehab process, he should be back to his old self by training camp. Which is good news, because an NFL season without shit-talking Richard Sherman sounds like no fun at all.
