Sassy LeBron Is Back
Photo credit: Ezra Shaw/ [object Object] Whether you find it admirable or annoying, LeBron James has been remarkably consistent about one thing throughout his career: When things aren’t going his way in the Finals, he gets sassy as hell.
The best of example of this followed his defeat in the 2011 Finals, when he answered a question about his haters by essentially saying, “They don’t bother me because I’ll still be young, rich, and handsome tomorrow and the rest of you will be still be broke and ugly.”
Then there was the press conference after Game 4 of the 2016 Finals, at which James found out that Klay Thompson had been talking some shit and responded with a “my little brother is feebly trying to beat me up” laugh.
Now that the Cavs are down 0-2 in the year’s edition of the Finals, Sassy LeBron is in rare form. We got our first glimpse of him after Game 2, when a reporter asked James an objectively silly question about defending his home court:
Zing! James kept the sass flowing at practice today, when a reporter asked him if guarding Kevin Durant has made him tired:
If nothing else, the man certainly has a knack for shutting down a line of questioning. There’s really no follow up to “I’m averaging a triple-double in the Finals. I’m pretty good, I would think.”
