Seven Former NBA Players Join Dennis Rodman In North Korea
Dennis Rodman has recruited some allies on his latest basketball diplomacy trip to North Korea. Rodman's team will be playing a team of North Korean all-stars on Wednesday, "a birthday present" for BFF Kim Jong-un.
The team comprises Kenny Anderson, Vin Baker, Cliff Robinson, Charles Smith, Doug Christie, Sleepy Floyd, Craig Hodges, and four streetball players. That's a pretty good team, back in the '90s!
One wonders if Rodman will ask about Kim's uncle Jang Sung-taek, with whom he drank last time he was in the country and has since been purged and executed. Or if Rodman realizes there is a North Korea beyond the cameras and champagne and caviar that greet him every time he comes.
"The marshal [Kim Jong-un] is actually trying to change this country in a great way," Rodman said. Oh.
