Steve Sarkisian Apologizes For Getting Liquored Up And Talking Shit (UPDATE: There's Video)
At last night’s Salute To Troy, USC coach Steve Sarkisian reportedly got wasted and yelled a whole bunch of profanities before getting pulled off the stage by athletic director Pat Haden. He issued an apology this morning:
Sarkisian: “I sincerely apologize to my players and staff and to our fans for my behavior and my inappropriate language at our kickoff event Saturday night. I have a responsibility to all of them and I let them down. Pat Haden talked to me after the event about my actions and I assured him this will not happen again.”
Haden: “I met with Coach Sarkisian and I expressed my disappointment in the way he represented himself and the University at our Salute To Troy event. While the details of our conversation will remain between us, I am confident he heard my message loud and clear.”
According to people who attended the event, Sarkisian ripped USC’s Pac-12 rivals, was drinking Fireball, and urged USC to “Fight the fuck on!”
You might recall that after last year’s Salute To Troy, defensive back Josh Shaw sprained both ankles jumping off a balcony, then made up a fake story about a drowning nephew to cover his ass. Steve Sarkisian also has a history of being too liberal with the fuck words, according to Anthony Brown, who also accused Sark of saying some racist stuff last year.
If you have any footage of Sarkisian from last night, please email [email protected].
Update (5:19 p.m.): Here is a drunk Sarkisian telling everyone to “Get ready to fucking fight on baby!”
