We Are All Dave McKenna XL
Here's your daily link to Dave McKenna's brilliant "Cranky Redskins Fan's Guide to Dan Snyder," which we'll be posting until Snyder's dumbass libel suit gets banished to the Phantom Zone like General Zod.
Buried deep in a Washington Post story today was the news that free press saboteur Dan Snyder muscled the paper into dropping the name "Redskins" from a video webcast and blog that were, of course, about the Redskins:
For many years, the "Redskins" name was used freely in the titles of local sports highlight shows on TV and radio. No longer. The team put an end to the practice several year [sic] ago, now only permitting "authorized" uses of its name - that is, under contractual agreement....
The Redskins recently asked The Washington Post to rename the newspaper's video webcast and blog about the team, which was called "Redskins Insider," according to people who have knowledge of the circumstances. The team had used the name "Redskins Insider" first, and The Post agreed to switch to "Football Insider."
Standard behavior from Snyder. And standard behavior from The Post, which these days too often looks less like a bold newspaper-of-record and more like the shit you crumple up beneath the kindling.
At least one publication in Washington isn't afraid of Snyder. Please donate to the Washington City Paper's legal defense fund.
