The Rams are 6-2 and in first place in their division. Todd Gurley, who looked possessed by the spirit of Trent Richardson last season, is a fringe MVP candidate this year. Jared Goff no longer looks like butt. The team is solid, but the offense in particular has been outstanding. It’s been quite a turnaround:
Using “on pace” is always indicative of a questionable stat, but the point remains that right now, the Rams are a long way from last year’s 4-12 campaign. There weren’t many significant changes to the roster between these two seasons. Offensively, Sammy Watkins came over from Buffalo and has been fine. Defensively, the main players are pretty much the same. Sean McVay and Wade Phillips have done a splendid job in the absence of ...
Jeff fucking Fisher. How many years of good Rams games was he keeping from the general public? How much talent did he squander? This guy, who coasted off the reputation of one Super Bowl trip, is nowhere to be found now: no coordinator gig, no analyst gig, nothing. At last check, Fisher was in goddamn Montana:
When the Rams dropped 46 points on the Colts in Week 1, I thought, Wow, Sean McVay’s on to something. When the Rams beat the Cowboys in Dallas in Week 4: Jeff Fisher really did a number on these guys, huh? When they dropped 51 points on the Giants Sunday: Jeff Fisher needs to be charged with a felony. McVay deserves credit for his coaching, but the Rams’ excellence seriously can’t just be all him.
