What Should The NHL Name Its New Divisions?
It appears the NHL will release next season's schedule as early as tomorrow. That means the league's radical realignment will be official—as will the names of the four new divisions. (See above map, designed by Tom Fulery.)
The NHL has confirmed the divisions will be geographically based, but the Sporting News raises an excellent point: How the hell is that going to work? Specifically: what used to be the Northeast Division, now with Detroit, Florida, and Tampa Bay thrown in. "Flortheast" has been suggested, and will forever be the people's name for it, but that won't fly with the league.
So! Please suggest appropriate names for the NHL's new divisions.
