This Is What It Looked Like When Heinz Field Became The Home Of The Gotham Rogues
As mentioned in Wake Up Deadspin, "The Dark Knight Rises" production took over Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, today. They called for about 10,000 extras and some Steelers, including newly married Ben Roethlisberger, were expected to be on camera.
The extras were told to dress for winter. The team name was changed to the Gotham Rogues. The Rogues were playing their rivals, the Rapid City Monuments. The stadium turf resembled post-quake terrain. Things got blown up. James Harrison called Commissioner Gordon "the devil" (before offering a forced apology). Terrible Towels knockoffs were waved (per a ban on Steelers-logo'd items).
