The "Bohemian Rhapsody" Dude Is An Unemployed Home Brewer Who Was Picked Up For DUI
The Smoking Gun has discovered the identity of that guy who fantastically belted out every word of "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the back of a cop car after his arrest. His name is Robert Wilkinson, he's 29, he's unemployed, he's a home brewer, and his unforgettable performance in the back of a Royal Canadian Mounted Police vehicle was very much real. It happened last November after the 29-year-old was busted for drunken driving in Edson, Alberta, Canada.
The video got out because Wilkinson, who is unemployed, decided to defend himself against the charges (of course), and the RCMP gave it to him as part of the case's discovery process. Wilkinson, in turn, did what any serious legal mind would do to prepare his defense: He uploaded the clip to YouTube to amuse his friends. The Smoking Gun interviewed Wilkinson and found out a little bit more about him:
Wilkinson, who was unaware that the police video (see below) had gone viral, said that he is a karaoke singer who has performed all 113 Beatles songs available on karaoke machines. Asked how he was able to recall almost all the "Bohemian Rhapsody" lyrics, Wilkinson sought to display his memory by rattling off a long string of digits in Pi.
That clears that up. But wait. It gets better.
Before launching into "Bohemian Rhapsody," Wilkinson, who was not handcuffed, lectured a RCMP officer, claiming that he was not intoxicated. "You're actually an ignorant fucking cunt. So fuck you buddy," Wilkinson told the cop, who had earlier pulled over his truck.
[...]
A home brewer, Wilkinson noted in a post last month that he was "solving the worlds problems, one beer at a time."
Wilkinson's YouTube page includes a video chronicling his 2004 dismissal from the Vancouver Film School, as well as clips showing him twice getting punched in the face by a friend.
Because physical violence is the least of his priorities.
