Struggling Mets Add Blogger To Rotation
Nothing signifies failure like bloggers. And nothing signifies a failed business model, an abandoned plan, like having to promote a blogger from his mother's basement and pay him money. The New York Mets—who are a cool 11-25 after the all-star break—are doing just that.
Johan Santana (who, although correlation does not equal causation, is 3-7 since his 134-pitch no-hitter, with an 8.27 ERA and a .964 OPS against) will likely miss his next start with a back injury. The Mets considered replacing him with Jenrry Mejia, the strong-armed youngster who debuted in the Mets' 2010 bullpen before getting hurt. But instead they opted for Collin McHugh, a 25-year-old 18th-round pick with a blog.
McHugh writes blog posts about, among other things, bat dogs. Yes, McHugh may be a blogger, but he is much better at blogging than the Mets are at anything.
