Hockey's Back, But The Media Still Doesn't Know Who The Kings Are
It became a running joke last season, as the Kings cruised to a Stanley Cup, that the Los Angeles media couldn't quite grasp the concept of a hockey team. The Kings were misidentified in onscreen graphics, the players' names slaughtered by sportscasters, even their mascot mixed up with his NBA counterpart. It got to the point where the team put out an infographic explaining just who the hell they are.
They might want to take the awareness campaign national. Yesterday's Chicago Sun-Times (photo sent in by reader Aaron) used the Sacramento Kings' logo to hype the Blackhawks' season opener. This confusion is probably why the NBA's Kings are moving to Seattle.
