Antonio Gates Reaches Most TDs By A Tight End, Gets Dogpiled By His Teammates
On a day where the Chargers honored their latest Hall of Famer, LaDainian Tomlinson, another legend cemented his place in history. In the third quarter of L.A.’s game against Miami, Antonio Gates caught his 112th career touchdown catch, passing Tony Gonzalez for the most ever by a tight end and getting piled onto by all his teammates as a result.
Earlier on the day, Gates also became just the third tight end ever to get 900 career receptions, doing so in his 206th career game. It’s a little bit weird that he’s getting these all-time milestones in Los Angeles, but wherever he is, Gates is one of the greats.
