Eighth Grader Impaled By Gym Floor During Basketball Game

Basketball players frequently go sprawling onto the court, and usually the worst that happens is a banged knee or a skinned elbow. But at a girls basketball tournament in Middleton, Wis. this weekend, a 14-year-old was impaled by a piece of broken floorboard after she fell.

The video above isn’t NSFW per se, but it is pretty sickening to watch how quickly the player screeches to a halt after being stabbed by the three-to-four inch long splinter. Luckily, the wood didn’t hit any major organs, there was no bleeding, and after a night in the hospital the girl was able to leave.
