Former Wisconsin Badgers and Denver Broncos running back Montee Ball was arrested in Madison, Wisc., around 3:45 a.m. today, and charged with battery, according to a PIO with the Madison PD.

A source told us Ball was involved in a domestic violence incident at a downtown hotel. A Wisconsin State Journal police source provides more detail:

“The woman told police she had a dispute with her boyfriend,” a police source told the State Journal. “She said he put his hands on her, picked her up and threw her.”

She told police she hit a table, resulting in the cut on her leg, which needed stitches.

Ball last played for the Patriots’ practice squad.
