Police: Reds Prospect Threw Rock At Girlfriend, Knocked Her Out
Arizona police say Cincinnati Reds third base prospect Tanner Rahier argued with a bartender at a Glendale restaurant early Saturday morning, argued with his girlfriend outside the restaurant, and threw a rock at her head, knocking her unconscious.
Rahier was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault with intent to injure. Per the Arizona Republic:
Rahier started throwing rocks at his girlfriend, police said. One rock, about 8-inches in diameter, reportedly hit the woman on the left side of her head, caused a deep cut and knocked her unconscious, according to the probable cause statement.
Rahier ran from the scene, but police apprehended him close to the restaurant, said Sgt. David Vidaure, a Glendale police spokesman.
The 21-year-old Rahier told police he didn't know the woman, but she told police the two had been dating for a month in a non-sexual relationship.
