This seems like a play with an inefficient success rate, relying on a perfectly placed hurl and a complete bite by the defenders to prevent it from being a jump ball. But I have no doubt the Tommies have been scouting and practicing this one for months. The pass, from holder Charlie Dowdle to TE Matt Christianson, put St. Thomas up 8-3.
St. Thomas ended up winning 80-3, which almost makes running a trick play seem kind of mean.
