Watford's Premier Dreams Still Alive After Wild Finish
Watford saw its hopes for promotion to the Barclays Premier League go from dead to alive in a matter of seconds. In the 96th minute Leicester's Anthony Knockaert was awarded a penalty kick that would surely have tied the game, sealing Leicester's aggregate win and ending all hope for Watford's promotion from the Championship league.
But Watford keeper Manuel Almunia stoned Knockaert twice and the Hornets charged back on offense. 20 seconds later Troy Deeney found himself and the ball in front of an empty and put Watford up 3-1. The home crowd stormed the pitch before the game was over and Watford manager Gianfranco Zola was jumping around like such a madman that he tumbled to the ground.
Here's the Sky Sports call, which was great:
With the win, the Hornets advance to play either Brighton or Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium on May 27 for a spot in the Premier League.
