Karl Alzner Calls Milan Lucic A Crybaby. Lucic's Teammate Says He Was "An Angry Baby."
Milan Lucic hasn't made much of an impact on the scoresheet, but he's been in the middle of every physical altercation in a physical series in a physical playoffs overall. Lucic picked up three roughing penalties on the night in a 4-3 Bruins win, and on the last ended up in a Karl Alzner headlock. After the two were separated and escorted to the penalty box, Alzner favored Lucic with the universal "wah-wah" gesture.
Afterward, Lucic joked about it (it's easier to joke about things when you win):
"I don't even know what to say on my side to show I'm not a crybaby," Lucic said with a laugh. "That's a lot coming from a guy who I think has two roughing penalties in three years."
I'm not sure what impugning Alzner's lack of roughing penalties has to do with it. Does taking less of them make you less of a man? Either way, no one in Boston's locker room thinks Lucic turns on the waterworks. CSNNE's Joe Haggerty asked Chris Kelly about it, and Kelly doesn't think Lucic's shed a tear in his life.
"I dont think he ever cried. I don't think he cried as a baby. He came out an angry baby. He came out with an attitude."
