Alex Smith Was Nearly Perfect Last Night, So Jim Harbaugh Said Some More Crazy Shit

You'll excuse us for not watching Niners-Cardinals last night. Our city was flooding. But we checked the various recaps today and saw this:

That is Alex Smith's statline. Alex Smith! He wasn't up against soft competition, either-he was on the road against a defense Football Outsiders ranked fifth in the league. He had to beat Patrick Peterson and a mean defensive line. Did he ever. One might think that a bruising Niners triumph-they won 24-3-would cause Jim Harbaugh to mellow. It didn't. He said at his postgame press conference:

Reporter: Do you think [Smith's] performance tonight maybe put any confidence issues to rest? Harbaugh: I don't think there was ever a question there. I think it's just a lot of gobble gobble turkey.
