Arkansas St. Scores Touchdown Because Runner Tackled Onto His Teammate
Arkansas State gave up 34 points in the first 21 minutes of their game tonight against Louisiana-Lafayette, but they gained seven of those back when running back Michael Gordon took a hit, went down, and decided to keep running—70 yards for a touchdown.
This held up after replay, and you can see from the video that Gordon's knee never hits the ground—because Ragin' Cajuns defenders tackled him right onto the top of his own teammate. "Play to the whistle" gets oft-deserved criticism as an injury-producing philosophy, but it would have served Louisiana to have followed that maxim this time.
