Bet On A Charles Barkley Gambling Backslide
Charles Barkley's gambling debts may be paid-off, but that doesn't mean his reputation as a problem gambler will be going away anytime soon.
Attempting to capitalize on Sir Charles' troubles, the slippery online gambling bastards at an online sportsbook have issued this little prop bet: Will Charles Barkley be Spotted on a Casino Gaming Floor before the start of the 2008-2009 season?
Payouts are +175 for a Yes and -375 for a "No", so even if they're enabling him, they at least are giving him a relatively good chance at success.
The stipulations of the bet are a little more interesting as an online sportsbook says "Charles Barkley must visit a Casino Gaming Floor and the visit must be reported by print or televised media (Blogs do not count towards wager). "
So, if Norm(!) the one-eyed gossip dog at " Vegas Confidential" writes up an item from an unnamed source that he spotted Barkley playing craps at the Taj, you get a paid. But if it's written on a blog, even one with an author that uses their real name and who spots Barkley on the floor with two good eyes, well, you don't paid.
Hmm. I wonder what an online sportsbook has against blogs?
