Big Nut Has Finally Accumulated Enough Flair To Be Employable At T.G.I. Friday's
Jon Peters—known to those in Ohio State enthusiast circles as Big Nut—makes regular appearances on television during Buckeye games due mostly to his ridiculous appearance. His visage grows more absurd by season, and given he's a portly fellow it's astonishing he's even mobile carrying such extra baggage. I imagine the momentum of his flair alone gives him the gait of a jerky pendulum.
On the basketball court, meanwhile, things moved much more smoothly. The Buckeyes dispatched Purdue 88-71 last night, leaving Boilermakers coach Matt Painter beside himself and setting up a Big Ten semifinal today with the Michigan Wolverines. It was a good day overall for teams from the 17th state, as five teams that call Ohio home picked up wins and survived to play today in their conference tournaments. Ohio, Xavier, Cincinnati, and Akron will all join the Buckeyes today in continuing their quests for conference tournament championships.
