More than any other sport, baseball lends itself to individual blog obsession. Every Major League Baseball team has several blogs obsessed with chronicling the ins-and-outs of everything. Deadspin salutes these modem-addled souls and proudly presents Blogdom's Best, given to the most outstanding blog for each team. If you would like to nominate a blog (yours even) for selection, just let us know at email@example.com. Today: The Chicago White Sox.
Our thoughts on the White Sox have been made pretty clear, and it's certainly exciting to have some new, fired-up blood in the World Series. And it's good for everyone to be reminded that there's some great baseball being played outside of the brick and ivy. But the White Sox fans really need to step it up on the blog front. There are two outstanding White Sox blogs, and the rest are all interchangable and somewhat sporadically updated. We picked the best of the rest. We have a feeling a World Series victory might rev that up a bit.
3. Black Betsy. Blatantly celebratory, nothing but love-ins here ... kind of like the Sox announcer.
2. Exile In Wrigleyville. We made a mistake in an earlier post and forgot this excellent blog. We are now correcting it. We apologize to Exile and the great all-baseball network. Don't hate us!
1. South Side Sox. The best White Sox blog, and it's not even close. These guys are so devoted and alert that when, in the midst of a live blog, we accidentally typed an "L" in Aaron Rowand's name, they emailed us immediately to correct us. THAT'S paying attention. A must-read during the Series.
(This is the last day for Blogdom's Best for baseball blogs. Starting tomorrow or Friday, not sure when yet, will be NFL team blogs. Send in your nominations to firstname.lastname@example.org)
