More than any other sport, baseball lends itself to individual blog obsession. Whether it's the glut of statistics, the constant opportunities for second-guessing or just the fact that you have something to write about every day, every Major League Baseball team has several blogs obsessed with chronicling the ins-and-outs of everything. Deadspin salutes these modem-addled souls and proudly presents Blogdom's Best, given to the most outstanding blog for each team. If you would like to nominate a blog (yours even) for selection, just let us know at [email protected]. Today: The Colorado Rockies.

All kinds of things make Denver great: the gorgeous mountainviews, the ability to buy used cars from someplace with John Elway's picture on it, the thin air that gets you stoned quicker. But other than the occassional school shooting, the worst part about Denver might be the Colorado Rockies. After a brief love affair with the city after the expansion season of 1993, the Rockies have grown worse and worse, to the point that they haven't had a sellout in nearly two years. No one can figure out how to win in Colorado's air, though it would seem anything would have to work better than whatever they're trying now.

So running a Colorado Rockies blog is a dicey endeavor. Your traffic isn't going to be huge, and you essentially have to deal with the eternal Coors Field Question in just about every single post. If the pros can't figure out the altitude, how is a mere blogger supposed to? But there are plenty of people trying. The aptly named Rockies Disaster Report details the ugliness. The newly created The Good, The Bad And The Barnes makes up for its dumb insistence on using MLB Blogs by updating daily without bursting into tears. But our award goes to Dan Lucero at Up In The Rockies, a man so devoted to his craft that before the dreadful Rockies-Royals series earlier this year, he actually put together a position-by-position breakdown. That's committment. That's insanity. That's enough to win our award, every time.
