Cardinals Linebacker John Abraham Suffering From Severe Memory Loss
Arizona Cardinals linebacker John Abraham suffered a concussion in the team's win over the Chargers on Monday night, and it may have been one too many for him. According to Adam Schefter, Abraham left the team after the game, possibly for good.
But here's the scariest part of Schefter's report:
Abraham is suffering from severe memory loss and has been for well over a year, sources said. Abraham believes he needs to take time to get well.
Abraham has been an oft-injured player during his career, one of those explosive athletes that always gets the "if he's healthy" tag. But he's not someone who comes to mind when you think of repeated shots to the head, like a Wes Welker, who seems to be putting his future at risk every time he steps on a football field at this point.
It took a year of memory loss and another head injury for Abraham to finally step away from the game. And that's probably faster than most players.
