Chart: Peyton Manning Marches Towards The NFL Touchdown Record
Peyton Manning had 33 touchdowns through Week 9 this season, putting him on pace to throw 59 and crush Tom Brady's single-season mark. He slacked off with back-to-back "disappointing" performances against the Pats and Chiefs (in which he led the Broncos to six touchdowns but threw just three), but was back in form with five strikes in the Kansas City rematch last Sunday. He now has 41 through twelve games, same as Brady in 2007.
The data viz team over at The Guardian has put together a great interactive visual, a portion of which you see above, tracking Manning's touchdown pace against Brady and the other highest single-season marks. You can also take a look at his pace against the yards and completions records on the interactive version on , and—more importantly—see the flames flicker on that awesome football he's throwing.
