Dallas Mayor Calls Greg Hardy Signing A "Shot In The Gut"
Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings sat down for an interview with local reporters to talk about the Cowboys' decision to sign Greg Hardy, who was accused of choking and beating his girlfriend last May. Rawlings has been very outspoken about domestic violence prevention during his tenure, and he does not seem too happy with the signing.
The interview begins with Rawlings saying that he is a big Cowboys fan, but that, "At some point, being a sports fan gets trumped by being a father, a husband, wanting to do what's right for women. So this is not a good thing, by me." Later in the interview, he calls the Hardy signing a "shot in the gut." Rawlings also admits that he will continue to cheer for the Cowboys, but that he "doesn't have to agree with every play that's called or every person that's hired."
