Colombian Striker Radamel Falcao Will Miss The World Cup [Update]

It's official: Radamel Falcao won't play in this summer's World Cup. Colombia's superstar captain tore his ACL while playing for his club, AS Monaco. He wasn't able to recover in time, and today, we found he was left off of his nation's final, 23-man roster going to Brazil.
Falcao was injured in late January in a French Cup match against fourth-division Chasselay Monts d'Or Azergues when he was chopped down in the box. At the time, Monaco were up 3-0.
We'll have more on what this means for Colombia's World Cup chances this week as we roll out our World Cup previews.
Update:
Falcao met with press today to speak about missing the World Cup, where he revealed that it was actually his choice to be left off the roster. It was a selfless act, but no less sad.
Here's hoping we get to see him back on the field this fall.
