Here's The Overtime Goal That Kept The NY Rangers' Season Alive
The New York Rangers, down to the Boston Bruins 3-0 in the Eastern Conference semifinals and facing a sweep, scored twice in the third period to tie the game 3-3 and send it into overtime.
Seven minutes into the extra period, Rangers left wing Chris Kreider passed the puck ahead to Rick Nash on the right side of the ice. Nash skated with the puck, then looked up and saw Kreider streaking toward the goal. Nash beat three Bruins defenders with a pinpoint pass. All Kreider had to do was redirect home the winning goal.
The Rangers were down 2-0 in the second period, but clawed back to win, 4-3, and extend their season. Boston still leads the series 3-1, and they'll try to close out at home in game five on Saturday night.
