NFL Suspends Josh Brown Six More Games, For Some Reason
Photo credit: Tom Canavan/ [object Object] The NFL’s initial investigation into allegations of domestic violence against former Giants kicker Josh Brown, which resulted in a one-game suspension, accomplished nothing. Even less is accomplished by the fact that the NFL has reportedly decided to suspend Brown for an additional six games.
The NFL reopened its investigation into Brown last October, in light of “new information” that the league had access to all along. It appears that second investigation has now concluded, thus the six-game ban.
This means nothing in practical terms. Brown is 38, was released by the Giants almost a year ago, and his NFL career is essentially over. The only interests that are served by this suspension are those of the people who want to reaffirm and make a show of the NFL’s extra-judicial authority.
