Tracy McGrady Blocked Two Shots, And The Spurs Won, Too
So, the San Antonio Spurs smacked the Golden State Warriors 109-91. The Spurs are up 3-2, and have a chance to close out the most exciting series of the NBA Conference semifinals when they travel to Golden State on Thursday. Fine. Great. That's not why we're writing this.
We're writing this because Tracy McGrady is back, y'all. We're writing this because we saw him play with our own eyes, for four whole minutes. He was in the game for the Spurs, running up and down the court, and he ended the game with a nice assist and a ridiculous rundown block in the final six seconds, and we'll be damned if it didn't remind us of this:
Kind of. But still, that dish and block were ridiculous, and we think he needs more time on the floor. It's his first time playing this deep into the NBA playoffs, so you know he's focused. Even though he's 33, T-Mac has shown that there's still gas in his tank. He averaged 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the last team he played for.
That team was in China. They came in last in the league. That's neither here nor there. What is important, however, is that with the Spurs up 3-2 on the Warriors, T-Mac is a mere nine wins away from winning his first NBA trophy. He might finally get his ring, maybe.
How did the actual game go, you ask? How'd Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson and Andrew Bogut do? They scored 15 points more than McGrady, combined. T-Mac missed his only shot.
